The Need
- The Vollay V3000 Suite Winder System (WS) has been developed to provide a range of adjustable
shading and screening options in hard to access areas such as elevated balconies or patios.
- To adjust the Louvre using a Winder which can be operated via a drive rod located through a window
fame or wall.
- To be available in a range of surface finishes that stand the test of time and comply with Australian
Standards.
Design Brief
- Have the option to draw from a wide range of Aerofoil Blade widths to develop a look to complement
any building or match existing panels.
- The Blades would be able to operate through a 95º angle, providing the ideal ventilation, shading and
screening option for the window.
- Be supported by a range of full length Angles which allow the panels to be bracketed to the external
wall to allow installation in either a vertical or horizontal plane. This enables suitable shading, screening
and privacy solutions to be achieved for hard to reach windows.
Solution
- The system has a choice of four Blade sizes, 55, 68, 90 and 115mm which have two Blade rotation
options.
- This system can either close up or down from the horizontal. In the 'closed down' position there is a level
or water resistance when you use a full length angle across the top of the panel. These options when
opened to the horizontal provide a level of privacy blocking the line of sight from either above or below
the panel.
Specification
- The Vollay V3000 Suite WS's mechanism is concealed within a 60x40mm extruded aluminium stile.
- The shutter has two aluminium Tilting Rods what are attached to an internal adapter which connects to
the desired blade size via a Brass Bush and stainless steel C-Clip.
- The two rods are adjusted via a gearbox which is housed outside an aluminium gear housing and driven
by two square cut inter-meshing gears. This action rotates the Blades to the desired angle and holds
them in place when at rest.
